Health Minister Supports Occupational Therapist Care Act Guides
The new health minister David Mowat has endorsed a series of Care Act guides focusing on the Act's implications for the work of occupational therapists.
Four guides were published by the College of Occupational Therapists after they were commissioned by the Department of Health in England.
Topics covered in the guides include well-being, prevention, disabled facilities grants and transitions, custodial settings, employment, training and education.
Also support by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, the guides provide practical guidance to help occupational therapists deliver the obligations enshrined in the Care Act 2014.
All four also include tangible evidence of practice, case examples and further examples of excellence, acting as a reference point for sector practitioners, commissioners and senior decision-makers.
