Guiding Principles for Occupational Therapy
A new career development framework has been published which provides a set of guiding principles for Occupational Therapy.

The framework gives Occupational Therapists a structured process that can help guide their careers, learning and development within their profession. They can use it to identify the things that they have learnt already, along with the areas that require continuous development.
The framework consists of four interrelating Pillars of Practice, each of which have nine Career Levels, those pillars being:
Occupational Therapists can use the framework on a range of different levels from identifying the strengths within a team and future needs when recruiting, to mapping out their current level of experience. In order for the framework to remain contemporary for the profession, it will need to evolve through a process of continuous evaluation and updates. In order to ensure that the framework remains relevant and successful, ongoing co-creation with those who use it will be essential.
