Speech and Language Therapist - Band 7 - Kent - Up to £42,295 per annum

A highly experienced and skilled band 7 Speech and Language Therapist is required to join our private client's service in Kent. The service is a 32 bedded neurological and brain injury clinic.

The predominant work of the successful Speech and Language Therapist will be within the neuro-rehab unit, with ad hoc advice and support to the residential unit when required. The neuro-rehab unit (17 beds) provides a Level2b rehabilitation service with multi-disciplinary therapy input, whilst the residential care unit (15 beds) is care led, for those who require daily support to manage the impact of their brain injury on activities of daily living.

Duties as a Speech and Language Therapist:

* To take a senior role in Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) assessment and management of service users with communication (or swallowing disorders), maintaining high standards of clinical care and working with in a multidisciplinary team frame work
* To take responsibility for the development and management of SLT service and staff
* Ensure practice is evidence based where possible, using national SLT clinical standards
* To ensure risk assessments and care plans are person centred, and support the team to provide safe, effective and evidenced interventions for the service user
* To contribute to the Therapy department and Centre's service development as requested by the Lead Therapist and Registered Manager
* To offer support to create best practice communicative environments

Requirements of this Speech & Language Therapist role include:

* You will hold a degree in Speech & Language Therapy and have extensive post qualified experience
* Be a registered member of the RCSLT and HCPC
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* The legal right to work in the UK
