Home Manager - Residential and Nursing Home - Liverpool - £65,000 per annum

We are currently seeking an experienced Home Manager based in Liverpool to join an established and prestigious nursing home provider to deliver excellent quality, individual care to all of the people living in the supported care service.

Main duties and responsibilities of this Home Manager role include:

* To fully comply and be accountable for meeting the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009
* Responsible for the health and social care needs of all service users within the Home
* Ensure that the home have a ready supply of appropriate labour ensuring nil use of agency staff
* To effectively manage and train staff in line with the requirements of the Care Standards Act 2000; Quality Assurance Systems
* To effectively manage all complaints and representations and implement disciplinary procedures as necessary
* To participate in day and night-time audits of the Care Centre, and report any areas of concern in a timely fashion
* To effectively manage and work within the allocated budget;
* To monitor staff attendance through the devising of Duty Rosters, Sickness and Absence Reports and effective management of annual leave and training attendance in accordance with the Home staffing and Company Policy and Procedures;
* To establish a good working relationship with service user's families and advocates, and hold regular support group meetings
* To implement a program of social and leisure activities, in partnership with the service users, which accurately reflects their wishes and choices
* To have a clear understanding of the varied and diverse multicultural needs of the Service Users, and to meet those needs through a non-discriminatory approach to Service delivery
* To effectively manage one's own workload, prioritise tasks and maintain professional development
* To provide support and advice to all subordinate staff, within the Home, through effective leadership
* To take 24 hour responsibility for the Home, and to delegate responsibility during periods of absence
* To conduct oneself as a professional role model, through behaviour, communication skills, appearance and standards of personal hygiene, at all times
* Responsible for registering with CQC as Registered Manager within 28 days of commencement

Skills and abilities required:

* Budgetary control and marketing skills
* Staff training and development programmes
* Development of user support groups
* Knowledge of Care Standards Act 2000 (essential)
* Commitment to own personal development
* Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative
* Commitment to research and development

Requirements of this Home Manager role include:

* NVQ Level 5 in Management (or equivalent)
* ENB 941 Care of the Elderly
* NVQ Assessor (desirable)
* Home Management experience
* Quality Management Systems implementation knowledge
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* The legal right to work in the UK
