Registered General Nurse Manager - Supporting Living - Surrey - £38,000 to £43,000p/a

We are currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse Manager to work Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week, working from the offices in Caterham, Surrey and travelling across Surrey to do the clinical assessments and supporting the supported living services and their residents.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a service catering for autism and epilepsy patients. The ideal candidate will be a band 6 or 7 Nurse who is looking for a new challenge and has experience with epilepsy patients

You must be a Registered and General Nurse and, due to the travel across Surrey, you must have a UK license and access to a vehicle.

Your responsibilities working in this role will be to:

  • Co-ordinate professionals, staff and family to ensure each service user is managed as effectively as possible
  • Act as an ambassador
  • Support the manager of each service (including prospective services) with the day-to-day management of service users with severe epilepsy and other complex needs
  • Write protocols and guidelines on managing service users’ epilepsy and other medical needs
  • Train staff to understand service user’s medical needs
  • Regularly review service users’ epilepsy and other medical needs
  • Oversee and analyse how staff monitor and record service users’ epilepsy and complex needs, including the use of alarm systems
  • Liaise with primary care teams, neurologists, hospitals and A&E
  • Provide advice and support to service users and their families, staff, care managers and other professionals
  • Be part of a team providing an on-call service for medical emergencies
  • Develop and manage new medical projects
  • Run medical meetings
  • Work as part of a team effectively

Essential requirements:

  • A Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification 
  • Current registration with the NMC and a legal right to work in the UK 
  • The ability to use your skills to develop care plans and assessments 
  • Experience of mental health services 
  • UK driving license and vehicle
