Deputy Home Manager - Elderly Nursing - Edmonton - £18.50p/h

Working hours: Full time mixed hours (40 hours per week)

We are looking for an RGN or RMN for a permanent opportunity in an Elderly Nursing Home in Edmonton, North London. The service provides residential care for people who need support with everyday activities such as washing, dressing or eating, as well as keeping on top of taking regular medications. Nursing care is also available at the home for people who live with more complex medical needs. Nursing and residential care is also provided for those living with dementia or those enduring other mental health issues. 

Short-term respite care is also offered at the home and intermediate nursing care is also available as an alternative to a hospital stay. Traditional home cooking using fresh produce is offered with choices being available. Special diets can be catered for. With a dedicated activities coordinator in place, you will be rest assured that there will always be activities taking place in and out of the home for residents to enjoy.

As the Deputy Manager, you will be expected to:

  • Assist the registered manager in all aspects of the home management
  • Deputise in the absence of the home manager
  • Hold overall responsibility for maintaining and monitoring the clinical care being given
  • Ensure all nursing staff are compliant with the requirements of the NMC and re-validation
  • Provide effective leadership to a team of clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Be responsible for day to day delivery of care
  • Identify and order medical equipment where required
  • Oversee the induction and training of new staff
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with other healthcare professionals, including visiting GPs

As a Deputy Manager you must have:

  • RGN / RMN qualification
  • A valid and up-to-date NMC registration
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Experience working as a deputy home manager
  • The legal right to work in the UK
