Staff Nurse - Low Secure Mental Health / Learning Disabilities Hospital - Canterbury - up to £32,000p/a

*Variety of shift types available including permanent night or day shifts*

Our client is looking for an RMN or RNLD for a new opportunity in their Low Secure Mental Health / Learning Disabilities Hospital in the Canterbury area of Kent.

At this award winning service, they offer specialist care to men and women with mental health disorders, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and complex needs. The MDT are experienced in a broad range of Mental Health problems and Learning Disabilities and offer the highest level of care.

This award winning low-secure site is split into the following units:

Male Forensic unit

Female Forensic Unit

Locked Rehabilitation Unit

Learning Disabilities Unit

As a Registered Nurse your main duties will be to:

  • Actively participate with the multidisciplinary team in formulating care plans and utilising appropriate assessments
  • Administer drugs and checking preparations in accordance with company policy and procedures and NMC guidelines
  • Provide assistance and clinical leadership in the induction/development and supervision of new and junior staff
  • Regularly review risk factors and work in conjunction with other health professionals to modify care plans as appropriate
  • Ensure that clinical practice is evidenced based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and the organisations policies and procedures

The successful candidate will have:

  • An RMN or RNLD Nursing qualification
  • Demonstrable experience of working in mental health and of enhancing care
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Registration with the NMC
