Salary based on 37.5 hours a week

We are working in partnership with a national charity and are currently seeking to appoint a non-medical prescriber to a drug and alcohol recovery service in Gloucester. The service offers specialist prescribing services, rapid access to assessment, responsive titration and a range of clinical and psycho-social interventions.

This includes BBV testing, vaccinations, ECG's and support through alcohol and opiate detoxification.

Your duties working as a Non-Medical Prescriber include:

  • Act as Care Coordinator, and have clinical responsibility, for the nurse led clinic
  • Offer a practice and supervisory lead to Workers as part of the overall Substance Misuse Service
  • Provide sound, evidence-based clinical practice
  • Conduct phlebotomy tests
  • Titrate patients safely on to a treatment regime
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments and contribute to the development of individual recovery plans
  • Develop, review and audit recovery plans
  • Provide health education
  • Refer and liaise with other agencies involved with the client’s broader care plan including Health Services, hospitals and GP’s

You must be:

  • A registered nurse (RGN)
  • The holder of a non-medical prescriber qualification
  • Prior experience as an NMP
  • NMC registered and eligible to work in the UK
