Deputy Ward Manager - RMN or RNLD - Adult Acute Service - Cheadle - £33,700p/a

We are looking for a Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse who is capable of taking on a permanent Deputy Ward Manager position in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. The hospital you will work in specialises in inpatient mental health services for young people and adults and needs a Nurse to join as Deputy Ward Manager on their Adult Acute Unit.

As a Deputy Ward Manager, your duties will consist of:

  • Working as a Senior Nurse in a Ward
  • Applying relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicates requirements to the wider team
  • Ensuring that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment
  • Identifying deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels and acting to address these
  • Supervising a defined group of team members and contributing to their overall CPD, mandatory training and appraisal process recognising the skills required across the team
  • Addressing any performance issues that are below the expected standard
  • Acting as a role model to promote a culture of learning development, inquiry and team vision
  • Implementing, monitoring and evaluating therapeutic interventions within an overall care programme

You will need to have:

  • An RMN / RNLD qualification
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Mental health experience 
  • NMC registration
  • Right to work in the UK
