Inpatient Nurse - RGN or RMN - Detox Recovery Service - Birmingham - £33,000p/a

In your role as a registered nurse (RGN/RMN) in this substance misuse detox unit, you will play an integral part in patients' detox from drugs and alcohol. You will need to be competent across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge; substance misuse experience is not necessarily required as full training is required. Where there is a deficit of substance misuse experience you will have transferable skills and have proactively researched detox and substance misuse.

As an Inpatient Nurse working for a Substance Misuse Charity, you will be required to:

  • Play an integral part in an experienced multidisciplinary team consisting of Doctors, Recovery Workers and Peer Mentors
  • Provide a high level of individualised care to every patient who comes into the service
  • Be competent across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge
  • Have sound knowledge of the treatment journey, an understanding of the importance of long term care, and have a positive attitude towards training and development
  • Experience working in vaccinations, including BBV, Hepatitis C Screening, ECG's, alcohol and opiate detoxification and Health Promotion

You should have:

  • Registered Nurse qualified (RGN or RMN)
  • Demonstrable experience or interest in substance misuse
  • Current and valid registration with the NMC and a legal right to work in the UK
