I am currently recruiting for a competent Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) to join this expanding and highly respected charity service. This value based substance misuse charity provides the majority of the country's alcohol and opiate addiction recovery services and have demonstrable expansion nationally. The charity aims to provide detox care to patients during their 2-4 week stay at the inpatient service. The nursing delivered is exclusively abstinence based and focuses directly on detox rather than therapy. The RGN/RMN Drug and Alcohol Nurse position utilises the scope of complex general nursing clinical skills and attends to both the general and mental wellbeing of patients.
In your role as Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) in this substance misuse detox unit you will play an integral part in an experienced multidisciplinary team consisting of Doctors, Recovery Workers and Peer Mentors. Each member of the team plays an essential role and provides a high level of individualised care to every patient who comes into the service. You will be competent across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
You will be working in a busy, 18 bedded inpatient service which provides medicated detox to patients during their month long stay. The position focuses on the health and wellbeing aspect of substance misuse and you will be required to have an excellent level of clinical skills. Daily duties will include vaccinations, ECGs, Hepatitis screening, phlebotomy and the treatment of co-morbid conditions.
