RGN or RMN - Drug & Alcohol Nurse - Substance Misuse – Community – Manchester - £26,759 - £32,584 Per Annum

37.5 hour per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

A committed and experienced RGN or RMN is required to join a community substance misuse service in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an RGN or RMN who has previous experience working within substance misuse, and who is looking for a role which offers Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm working hours.

This service provides rapid access to a range of interventions and treatment options for adults and young person’s experiencing problems with substance misuse, promoting a focus on prevention, recovery and independence

The post holder will pro-actively assist in the delivery of high quality health and recovery interventions including:

  • Full healthcare assessment
  • Blood borne virus screening & immunisation
  • Alcohol and drug detoxification
  • On-going contribution to recovery planning

These interventions are aimed at improving health & wellbeing for service users across the life course.

As a RGN or RMN - Drug & Alcohol Nurse, your main duties will include:

  • To provide nursing care for patients accessing substance misuse services
  • Provide specialist nursing care in maintaining and developing a quality service and take overall responsibility for the care of a caseload of patients requiring detox through the Medically Assisted Withdrawal Programme
  • Assess, plan and evaluate programmes of care for patients
  • Provide treatments within own competence levels based on appropriate substance misuse / health / guidelines

As a RGN or RMN - Drug & Alcohol Nurse, you must have:

  • An RGN or RMN qualification
  • NMC PIN and the legal right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience of working within substance misuse
