Occupational Therapist - Elderly Stroke Rehabilitation - Barnet - Band 6 - £23-£27ph

We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient rehabilitation team with one of our NHS clients based in Barnet. The occupational therapist will ideally have experience in working in a rehabilitation setting either within the community or within a hospital setting.  

The successful Occupational Therapist will have working experience at Band 6 level in Stroke rehabilitation and elderly rehabilitation. Skills in Stroke assessments and treatment of patients with highly complex presentations is required. 

You will be working in a rehab ward with stroke beds and general rehab beds so the caseload will be of mixed presentations. This opportunity will give the successful occupational therapist the chase to work in a supportive and a dynamic team.

The successful therapist will have experience of…       

  • Developing a rehabilitation programmes to help rebuild lost skills and restore lost confidence
  • Elderly care
  • Screening referred patients
  • Functional assessments
  • Cognitive assessments
  • Discharge planning
  • Goal setting
  • Advising on home and workplace environmental alterations
  • Liaising with other professionals, such as doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, equipment suppliers and architects, as well as patients' families, carers and employers    
  • Writing reports and attending multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing treatment.    
  • Organising support and rehabilitation groups for carers and client

As an Occupational Therapist, you MUST be:     

  • HCPC registered      
  • Eligible to work in the UK
