Working hours: Full time

I am recruiting for a Registered General Nurse ( RGN ) to join this elderly nursing home as Nurse Team Leader. My client is part of one of the country's leading and most reputable non-profit organisations who deliver exceptional standards of healthcare nationally. 

The home provides end of life, palliative and respite care to elderly residents with general nursing provision for age related illness. You will be competent across a range of clinical skills and have a thorough understanding of legislative requirements within your profession.

The role of the Nurse Team Leader - RGN is:

  • To manage the nursing care and support to residents in the nursing home in a manner that enhances the quality of their life
  • To provide professional leadership and support to the staff
  • To take particular responsibility for an area of work as agreed with the Nursing Care Manager
  • To encourage participation of residents, wherever possible, in the running of the home
  • To exercise leadership in the home and help to co-ordinate the work of all staff
  • To ensure supervision and support of staff on an individual and group basis by regular meetings and exchange of information
  • To assist the Home Manager in planning and providing staff cover to the home
  • To ensure that supplies are maintained and equipment checked regularly
  • To respect the confidentiality of residents, relatives and colleagues at all times, and especially outside the nursing home environment 

As a Nurse Team Leader - RGN you will have:

  • Experience in a similar setting (hospital or nursing home)
  • A Registered Nurse qualification ( RGN )
  • Proven experience in a leadership position
  • Current registration with the NMC 
  • The legal right to work in the UK
