Charge Nurse - RMN or RNLD - Private Mental Health Hospital - North London - £36,421 - £37,542 per annum plus benefits

*£500 in the first 3 months of service, £650 for 9 months service and £950 for 18 months service*

I am currently recruiting for a Charge Nurse ( RMN or RNLD ) to join a private mental health hospital in North London. 

They care for men with a diagnosis of mental disorder and associated challenging behaviour and offer patients assessment and specialised treatment. They also have a full care pathway with medium secure wards, low secure wards, and a rehabilitation wing, Tennyson House. This service won a LaingBuisson Award in 2013 for its care pathways.

The role of Charge Nurse - RMN or RNLD involves:

  • To accept personal and shared responsibility for the maintenance of quality nursing care, for all patients as part of a multidisciplinary team approach within a forensic setting.
  • To work as a Primary Nurse/Care Coordinator for an identified group of patients whilst consistently working within the clinical governance framework.

  • To be successful, you will need:
  • A relevant nursing qualification and registration
  • Excellent team working skills, a high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach - our units operate 24 hours 7 days a week, and our nursing staff work shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights.
  • A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice

An ideal Charge Nurse RMN or RNLD will have:

  • A RMN or RNLD qualification
  • A current, valid registration with the NMC and the legal right to work in the UK
  • Experience in a senior role in a similar service 
  • A proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks and manage Health & Safety issues
  • The drive to learn and develop
  • A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice
  • A flexible, positive, team-orientated approach.
